There is a shortage of blood for transfusions in Sardinia. And the Plasma comes from Friuli Venezia Giulia. This always happens because there is an agreement between the regions. But “100 units were sent from the Northeast, which in turn were delivered to Sardinia for thalassemia patients in addition to the standard agreement in place with this region .“
This was announced by the regional health councilor of the FVG, Riccardo Riccardi, who also spoke of a donation across the borders to another southern region.
“Campania has made an extraordinary request for the supply of 300 blood units for thalassemia patients. A request for help to which Friuli Venezia Giulia responded immediately,” explains the representative of the municipal council of Massimiliano Fedriga and provides “170 units, of which 125 have already been shipped”.
Thanks to the exceptional commitment of donors, our system has so far been able to 225 units, while also ensuring the conditions provided for in the agreements with the National Blood Centre.
