Family Massacre, “I Killed Them All”, 17-Year-Old Arrested

A 17-year-old has been arrested after confessing to the murder of his parents and his 12-year-old brother, who were fatally wounded with a kitchen knife yesterday in their home in Paderno Dugnano (Milan).
The measure was taken at the end of a long interrogation by the Carabinieri of Paderno Dugnano, in the presence of the prosecutor for minors Sabrina Di Taranto. At the moment the triple murder does not have a clear motive, for which perhaps “we will have to wait a long time to explain such an atrocious gesture”, as learned from judicial sources. He struck them one after the other, with dozens of stab wounds, in the beige brick house where until a few hours before there had been an air of celebration. The shocking and dramatic dynamics of the triple murder committed by a 17-year-old boy, who on the night between Saturday and Sunday killed his father Fabio, 51, his mother Daniela, 49, and his little brother Lorenzo, 12, in the family villa in Paderno Dugnano (Milan), was told by him himself: the young man confessed after a long interrogation inside the barracks of the Carabinieri of the Milanese municipality, retracting his first version. Not a word, however, about the motive, if indeed it is possible to find an explanation for an explosion of so much wickedness.
“I killed them, alone,” he admitted to investigators, denying what he had said this morning first to 112 and then to the police who had arrived at his home: he had in fact told both of them that he had killed his father after discovering that he had in turn killed his mother and little brother.
But from the very beginning his statements appeared to be incomplete and inconsistent. After calling 112 saying “come, I killed my father”, the young man waited for the arrival of the patrol car outside the house of horrors, with the murder weapon on the ground. There, in the private street where his grandfather, a well-known real estate developer, had in fact laid the foundation stone of an elegant complex of villas where the whole family lived, including grandparents and uncles, the 17-year-old immediately admitted his responsibility for his father’s death. However, he lied, explaining that he had found his parent sitting on a chair with the knife used to kill his mother and little brother next to him and that he had grabbed it to kill him, in his brother’s room which is connected to his.
To the same questions, initially asked jointly by the prosecutors of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of Milan and Monza, his answers were not precise, until he contradicted himself with his own words. In the meantime, the first examination of the coroner carried out on the bodies of the victims and the forensic findings inside the house, have highlighted that the greatest number of stab wounds, we are talking about dozens, were inflicted on the 12-year-old, who at the time of the attack was in his bed.
The mother and father were instead found on the floor, also wearing nightwear. It is therefore possible that the parents, attracted by the screams of their youngest son, entered the room probably at two different times and that perhaps the 17-year-old neutralized them in some way, before unleashing his inexplicable fury on them too. A fury apparently without motive, so much so that after collapsing into one contradiction after another, the 17-year-old was unable to explain his crazy act. “It has not yet been reconstructed and perhaps it will take a long time to explain such an atrocious act,” ANSA learned from a judicial source. The investigations are therefore far from over: it will be necessary to dig deeper to reconstruct the apparently idyllic relationships within the family, and to go and look for, if it is possible to find some, the reasons that could have pushed the 17-year-old to exterminate his entire family.
The investigators will interview all those who attended the father’s birthday dinner last night, to understand what may have happened during the evening, as well as examining the boy’s electronic devices and interviewing the people close to him. A way to try to understand the context in which the family massacre matured.
Of this terrible tragedy, there remains the bowed head of the grandmother, Fabio’s mother, who came out of the Carabinieri barracks with shocked eyes and who last night was in her house next door, while her grandson took the lives of his dearest loved ones.
