Reading by Tatort actor and author Joe Bausch

Joe Bausch is known to many viewers of the Cologne crime series Tatort as forensic pathologist Dr. Joseph Roth. The doctor and author is stopping off in Korschenbroich to mark the tenth anniversary of the “Korschenbroich reads” association. The reading is the start of the anniversary program of the sponsoring and supporting association together with the Barbers bookstore.

Joe Bausch has only given a few readings for his current book – but one of them is in Korschenbroich, says Rita Mielke from the “Korschenbroich reads” association. On Friday, September 6th, at 7.30 p.m., Bausch will be a guest at the Herz-Jesu Herrenshoff church. He will present his autobiographical childhood memories “Verrücktes Blut”.

According to Mielke, the new book is the most personal to date by the prominent TV forensic pathologist and author. Bausch tells the moving story of his childhood in the Westerwald in the post-war years. He grew up on a farm there. But unlike his father’s plan for the “farm heir”, Bausch frees himself from the narrow village life and studies medicine. For more than 30 years he worked as a senior doctor in the Werl correctional facility and often as an actor. His best-known role is that of the forensic pathologist Joseph Roth in the Cologne “Tatort”.

What it means for a child to experience humiliation, violence and assault and how one learns to live with it later as an adult – Joe Bausch will read passages from his current book “Crazy Blood” in his own, unmistakable way.

Tickets are available for 16 euros from Barbers Bookstore, telephone: 02161 9999849.
