Among the latest initiatives is the Big Screen program, offering live rebroadcasts of opera and ballet performances in public places on a “big screen”. The initiative was started in 2000. in London, and today there are already 21 such venues across the country, specializing in an audience of 40,000 spectators a year. Particularly popular are the so-called Summer Live Performances, known as BP Summer Big Screens, which have been held since 1980. here, with the exclusive support of Britain’s energy giant. Especially for them, this summer the performances of the operas “Manon” and “Madame Butterfly”, as well as the ballet “Cinderella” were presented in Trafalgar Square in London. Tony Hall, Chief Executive of the Opera House said, “The BP Summer Big Screens are the highlight of the Royal Opera House’s summer season. We broadcast our live screenings of Royal Opera House and Royal Ballet performances live to huge screens in London and across the country”. The new event being prepared by the Royal Opera House and British Petroleum for the upcoming Olympic Games in 2012 is the joint work on a special exhibition telling the Olympic story. In cooperation with the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, work is now being done on the idea of ​​collecting in one exhibition the history of the games – such as all the Olympic medals since 1896. and all Olympic torches since 1936, along with other artifacts, graphics, films and audio from the Olympic Museum.
