Thousands of fans of the stories about the wizard’s apprentice Harry Potter celebrated the fan event “Back to Hogwarts” together on Sunday. Just in time for the start of the event, visitors cheered loudly and held up their magic wands.
Hamburg’s mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) was also on stage. In the eight books by author JK Rowling, the Hogwarts Express always departed from platform nine and three-quarters on September 1st at 11 a.m. at the start of the new school year.
Evanna Lynch and Rufus Beck as star guests
The star guests at the event at the wholesale market and in the theater at the wholesale market were the actress Evanna Lynch, who played the gentle, blonde Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, and audio book narrator Rufus Beck. He read from the book “The Prisoner of Azkaban”, the third part of the book series.
A look behind the scenes of the play
With free admission, visitors were also able to take a look behind the scenes of the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, watch magic wand choreographies and get to know the new actors and actresses of the Harry Potter play, which has been performed in Hamburg since 2021. They will be on stage from the end of October.
