The Oberliga relegated team from Offenburg suffered its first defeat in the football association league in a turbulent match with FC Teningen, losing 3:4. Offenburg was only beaten in injury time. Benny Kropp was injured.
Oberliga relegated team Offenburger FV suffered its first defeat in the Verbandsliga, losing 3:4 in Teningen in injury time. “We lost with a lucky punch,” regretted coach Sascha Ruf, admitting: “At the beginning we were unsure about the build-up. In the second half we came back well and were closer to victory after our follow-up goals.”
FC Teningen’s early double blow in the first half was ultimately too heavy a burden. In the third game, OFV appeared uninspired for much of the first half.
Kropp in starting eleven
Ruf only changed one position in his starting eleven. Benny Kropp played in place of Nicolas Anatoh. But for Kropp the game was over after just half an hour. He had to be stretchered off the pitch due to a foot injury without any outside intervention.
Offenburg often seemed overwhelmed by the fast Teningen team. The defense was also careless. One of these actions led to the 1-0. OFV keeper Lion Wellnitz played an inaccurate cross pass, which Maximilian Resch caught and passed to Timo Wehrle, who scored. Teningen countered through Resch to make it 2-0. Stephan Stübbe used his pass with skill. The ball bounced off the inside post and over the goal line.
Switch to three-man defense
Teningen started at a high pace after the restart. Wellnitz made several saves. The OFV switched to a three-man defense and played with long balls. Ruf brought fresh impetus with the substitutions. After the OFV was able to equalize Tom Hodel’s 3-1 to make it 3-3, a surprise was in the air.

The game was open and in the 90th minute El-Hadji Fall had the winning goal for Offenburg on his feet. Teningen did better. In return, Manuel Riechert took advantage of a shot blocked by Wellnitz to make it 4:3. In the end, OFV was not rewarded for its improved performance.
