And every year the groundhog greets us. Ever since quarterback legend Ben Roethlisberger had passed his peak, the glorious Pittsburgh Steelers often seemed like the division’s clumsy underdogs. And yet both “Big Ben” and his limited successor Kenny Pickett led Pittsburgh into the playoffs. It would be presumptuous not to assume that the league’s longest-serving head coach – Mike Tomlin – will not send a competitive team onto the field week after week.
The Steelers will rarely dismantle an opponent, but this team has to be beaten first. Of course, the quarterback situation around Russell Wilson and Justin Fields dominates the environment and of course the defense around star pass rusher TJWatt is once again spreading fear.
