Two Guatemalans who were injured in an accident in Mexico are receiving consular assistance

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Guatemalan Consular Group in the city of Arriaga, Chiapas, Mexico, was responsible for caring for the two injured Guatemalans, aged 21 and 41 respectively. The accident happened when a vehicle ran over a group of more than 600 migrants on the Pan-American Highway.

The event took place in the city of Niltepec, Oaxaca. The incident left at least three people dead, including a small one, and 17 injured.

“It was reported that a 41-year-old man, originally from Chiquimulilla, Santa Rosa, was released and the two injured. While the 21-year-old young man, originally from Palencia, showed a possible fracture in his right arm and left ankle. ” This is how the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs details.

At the moment, the consular mission is monitoring the recovery of the injured Guatemalans and they are still in contact with their families to inform them of the progress of their treatment.
