Tourist arrivals in Morocco reached a new record of ten million people by the end of July 2024, up 15% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
“The destination ‘Morocco’ welcomed a record number of arrivals during the month of July 2024, i.e. 2.6 million arrivals, an increase of 20%. At the end of the first seven months of 2024, a new record was recorded for this period of the year, with ten million tourists arriving in the Kingdom, representing an increase of 15%”, indicates the DEPF in its recent economic report.
As for overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments, they consolidated by 8.4% at the end of June 2024, reaching 12.7 million overnight stays, the same source said, specifying that this development covers a notable increase of 13.1% to 7.2 million in Q2-2024.
Regarding tourism revenues, they closed the second quarter of 2024 with a dynamic of +9.4%, bringing their growth to 2.3% at the end of last June, after a decline of 4.2% at the end of March 2024 and a strengthening of 69.2% a year earlier.
