After the start-up days, the “newcomers” then go directly to their training stations in the branches, where their colleagues are already eagerly awaiting them. As one of the largest training providers in the district, the Kreissparkasse Verden offers a varied training program. Specialist knowledge is not only imparted in the vocational school, but also in internal classes. In seminars, training courses and project work, the trainees can work independently and innovatively. Training plays a crucial role in the future – both for the trainees and for the companies that employ them. Within the Verden-based construction company Matthäi, many young talents are starting their careers in the new training year. This means that the Matthäi Group remains well positioned for the future. After all, the group of companies is on a constant growth path. It is important to Matthäi that the present, past and future are linked. Training young people has a long tradition at Matthäi. For over 90 years, the company has been particularly concerned with training young specialists. One of the success factors is the wide range of apprenticeships that Matthäi offers. From manual and technical to commercial and logistical professions – the choice is large. In addition, no one needs to be afraid of having chosen the wrong path. If the chosen profession does not meet expectations, Matthäi supports a change to another field within the company. Anyone who is just starting their training is integrated into the team at Matthäi right from the start. Although the company has now grown to over 3,000 employees at more than 70 locations, the feeling of a family atmosphere remains. This is a great advantage for the trainees, as they feel safe and well looked after. Experienced specialists are on hand to support the young people to teach them the necessary technical skills and to support them in their first professional steps. This means that the young people quickly manage to take on responsibility and fit into the team. Matthäi’s training concept has also made a name for itself outside the company. This year, Matthäi was again recognized by FOCUS MONEY as one of the best training companies in Germany. This award is based on criteria such as training quality, remuneration, future prospects and the success of the trainees. Matthäi was able to impress in all areas. This not only leads to a constant influx of new talent, but also to a high level of employee loyalty. This is a valuable asset, especially in the construction industry, where skilled workers are in high demand. One issue is particularly important for young people entering the professional world: sustainability. After all, it’s about their future. This is just one of many reasons why Matthäi is particularly committed to sustainability. Matthäi is also setting standards in the area of climate protection. The Matthäi Group is strongly committed to sustainable construction and has launched numerous projects in recent years to reduce resource consumption and increase efficiency. The starting point for these efforts was a comprehensive CO2 balance sheet that Matthäi carried out voluntarily. Young people in particular today attach great importance to their employer treating the environment responsibly. Matthäi is setting a positive example here and showing that the company is prepared for a successful future in many ways.
