Chainsaw Injuries Himself While Pruning Plants: 77-Year-Old Dead

(ANSA) – MODENA, 29 AUGUST – He was pruning plants in his home garden when he lost control of the chainsaw he was holding, resulting in serious injuries. The elderly man died shortly afterward due to a deep cut to his throat. The tragic domestic accident occurred today, in the early afternoon in the countryside of Carpi, in the Modena area, in via Castione. The 118 paramedics arrived immediately, with a medical car and an ambulance, and the firefighters, called by the victim’s relatives. Despite the timely assistance, unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the man, a 77-year-old. According to initial investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, who immediately intervened on the scene to carry out the necessary legal checks, the elderly man was injured while he was cutting down a tree in his home garden with the chainsaw. In fact, while handling the gardening machine, the elderly man lost control of it, resulting in a deep wound to his neck. The Bologna air rescue team also landed on the scene, but the paramedics could do nothing but confirm his death. (ANSA).
