The 40 requests for green hydrogen projects received by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) concern the different regions of the Kingdom, affirmed, Thursday in Rabat, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli.
In a statement to the press following the meeting of the Steering Committee responsible for “The Moroccan offer” for green hydrogen, held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, Mr. Jazouli stressed that “offers from all over the world have been received in this context, notably from the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Morocco in particular.”
The minister explained that these offers, which number around 40, concern the different regions of the Kingdom, from North to South, adding that the meeting of the steering committee made it possible to review the process of selecting project requests, in particular the criteria adopted in order to choose the initial requests which will be selected in the coming weeks.
The Steering Committee in charge of the “Morocco offer” for green hydrogen, which is part of the Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, approved Morocco’s offer in terms of green hydrogen, said the official, recalling that the Sovereign had given His High Directives to accelerate the implementation of Morocco’s offer in this area.
Furthermore, the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) has developed an electronic platform made available to investors in the field of green hydrogen in Morocco, its Chairman and CEO, Tarik Moufaddal, said Thursday in Rabat.
“The Agency, which constitutes a central point in Morocco’s offer in green hydrogen, has developed an electronic platform for investors in this field,” he stressed in a statement to the press following the meeting of the steering committee responsible for the “Morocco Offer” for green hydrogen, held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.
He also specified that 40 Moroccan and foreign investors have submitted project requests to invest in green hydrogen, adding that “several regions of the Kingdom have interested these investors.”
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting of the steering committee responsible for the “Morocco Offer” for green hydrogen, in application of the High Directives of HM King Mohammed VI, calling for the rapid and qualitative implementation of this offer, in order to enhance the assets that our country has in this area and to best respond to the projects supported by global investors in this promising sector.
A press release from the Department of the Head of Government stated that in accordance with the High Royal Directives, the Committee examined the progress of the implementation of the various projects relating to the operationalization of the Morocco Offer, for green hydrogen, noting in this context the examination of the methodology that will be adopted for the evaluation and selection of projects through a rigorous definition of criteria.
