The draw for the League Phase of the Champions League, UEFA’s top club competition, which will have a different format for the 2024-25 season.
In the new Champions League campaign, the Group Stage will be replaced by the League Stage, the most important change in the format of the European competition. Regarding the new format, the official website of the prestigious European competition explains it as follows.

“Teams will play eight matches in the new league phase (former group stage). They will no longer play three opponents twice (home and away), but will face eight different teams, playing half of them at home and the other half away. To determine the eight opponents, the teams will initially be divided into four pots. Each team will then face two opponents from each of these pots, playing one match against a team from each pot at home and one away,” the official Champions League website notes.

The first round of the Champions League phase will be played between 17 and 19 September 2024 and fans are eagerly awaiting the big matches that will be played in the first round of the competition.
