The highest growth of the average salary in the second quarter of the year was reported in Haskovo (25.9%), Dobrich (25.4%) and Vidin (24.2%). It is the smallest in Stara Zagora – 12.2%. This is shown by the data of the information bulletin of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP) in the field of income and living standards.
In the second quarter of 2024, the average salary for the country is BGN 2,296, which is an increase of 17.3 percent on an annual basis.
The highest average salary is received by those working in Sofia – BGN 3,129. The average salary in the capital is 36.3% higher than the average salary for the country, compared to the second quarter of 2023, it increased by 16%.
The district with the lowest average salary is Blagoevgrad – BGN 1,519. It is about 66.2% of the average for the country, compared to the second quarter of 2023, it has increased by 17.2%. Other districts with low average wages are Smolyan – BGN 1,535 (66.9% of the national average), Kyustendil – BGN 1,565 (68.2% of the national average), Silistra – BGN 1,578 (68, 7% of the national average), Vidin – BGN 1,600 (69.7% of the national average).
