/ world today news/ China successfully conducted its first high-pressure pure hydrogen pipeline test on Sunday, providing technical support for the future realization of large-scale and low-cost long-distance hydrogen transport.
The test was conducted at a PipeChina site in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, with the pipeline filled with hydrogen at 6.3 MPa, and the pipeline’s burst capability at 9.45 MPa was tested, with the results meeting expectations.
It was the first high-pressure test of a non-metallic hydrogen transfer pipeline in China. The test site is the third of its kind in the world, with the other two sites located in the UK and Italy.
PipeChina said the company will accelerate research and development of frontier hydrogen and carbon dioxide storage and transportation technologies with a view to integrating traditional oil and gas pipeline businesses with its new energy storage and transportation business.
