The Otto von Bismarck Foundation, one of the seven political memorial foundations of the Federal Republic of Germany, is seeking to fill the position of
a speaker (f/m/d) for education and mediation
full-time or part-time with half of the regular working hours.
The position is rated according to salary group 11 of the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD Bund).
The Otto von Bismarck Foundation conducts scientific research and historical-political educational work, maintains archives in Friedrichsruh and Schönhausen and shows permanent and special exhibitions on Otto von Bismarck and his time in both locations.
Your tasks:
- Contact person for education and events
- Collaboration in the conception and implementation of events on historical-political education, in particular democracy education, adapted to the requirements of structurally weak rural areas
- Communication of scientific content for different target groups (also in English)
- Support in the development and implementation of visitor acquisition measures
- Didactic support of the permanent exhibition and special exhibitions
Your profile:
- Completed university education (BA or equivalent) in a humanities or cultural studies subject such as history, public history, political science or museum education
- Good knowledge of German and European history of the 19th century as well as knowledge of the history of the 20th century, especially the history of the GDR
- Practical experience in the field of education and mediation work
- Organizational talent, ability to work goal-oriented and self-organized
- Confident demeanor and strong communication skills
- Willingness to work occasionally at events in the evenings and on weekends
- Confidence in using common office applications and social media
