Bloody crime in Lower Saxony: Man slaughters mother – acquitted | Regional

Aurich (Lower Saxony) – He stabbed his mother more than 30 times with a knife and killed her. The court had to acquit the man. However, that does not mean he is free.

A spokeswoman for the Aurich Regional Court in East Frisia said the 38-year-old was not criminally responsible after the verdict was announced. However, the man must remain in a psychiatric clinic for an indefinite period of time.

Looking back: According to the prosecution, the argument escalated in mid-February in the house they shared in the town of Norden (Lower Saxony). The German attacked his mother (62) with a kitchen knife and inflicted numerous stab wounds and cuts on her head, shoulder and arms. The woman was so badly injured that she bled to death.

Son admits attack

The district court had no doubts about the crime, said the spokeswoman: “It was manslaughter.” The son reported the crime to the authorities himself. He also admitted the attack in court, said the court spokeswoman.

However, he stated that he could no longer remember what triggered the conflict. The verdict is not yet final.
