Donate blood at the Robert-Genest space

Health. The French Blood Establishment (EFS) in Chaumont is holding a collection on Friday, August 30, at the Robert-Genest space. But before that, Dr. Peggy Cygler takes stock of the summer collections.

Blood reserves are at their lowest. In Chaumont, more than anywhere else, donors have not been forthcoming. “We have very low attendance at blood drives, it’s not what we expected. We need to bounce back now, our stocks are very tight,” laments Dr. Peggy Cygler, head of the French blood establishment.

At this point, we must therefore take stock, which is far from positive, and try to find the causes. “People on holiday and weather problems were a concern, because in rural areas, we were not able to do all the collections we wanted.” Thus, some villages, hit hard by storms and torrential rains, were unable to carry out the collections planned throughout the summer.

Mobilization on the rise?

“We must hope for much more.” To this end, a collection is being organized in Chaumont, at the Robert-Genest space, on Friday, August 30, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, September 3, a collection will be held in Froncles. Donors are therefore expected in large numbers this Friday.
