JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Indonesian National Team defender sent a message to supporters after missing out on the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asia Zone next week.
Jordi was unable to defend Garuda after receiving an injury and was unable to return to a suitable position.
Jordi’s absence is certainly an unpleasant news for the Garuda team who are currently preparing to face strong teams such as Saudi Arabia (September 5) and Australia (September 10).
Jordi admitted that he was disappointed because he could not join the Indonesian National Team at this important time.
Even though he has tried hard to speed up the healing process from his injury, the Johor Darul Ta’zim player has been forced to postpone his desire to return to play with the Garuda team.
“Dear Indonesian fans, with sad feelings, I want to announce that although I tried to speed up my recovery time, I will not be able to join the National Team for the third round of World Cup qualification . I have tried my best, but unfortunately it was not possible,” said Amat. in his statement uploaded to his Instagram account, Thursday (29/8/2024).
However, Amat remains optimistic that the Indonesian national team will be able to perform well against Saudi Arabia and Australia.
He also hopes to get the support of all Indonesian people to encourage the players who fight on the field.

“However, I am still positive and confident that my colleagues in the National Team and throughout Indonesia will fight together to achieve our goals. Thank you for your incredible support, and I can’t wait to get back on the field with you,” he said.
Amat’s absence is an additional challenge for coach Shin Tae-yong in determining strategy and player composition.
Shin Tae-yong had previously called up 26 players to defend the Indonesian national team in this qualifying match.
The squad is filled with several players who have been in the main role, such as Marselino Ferdinan, Rafael Struick, Asnawi Mangkualam, and Jay Idzes.
In the goalkeeper position, Maarten Paes, who officially finally wears the Red and White uniform, is ready to be the main pillar between the sticks.
Paes competes with other goalkeepers, such as Ernando Ari Sutaryadi, Muhammad Adi Satryo, and Nadeo Argawinata.
However, the absence of Amat and the non-call-up of Elkan Baggott was a cause for concern.
The two players who are usually the main defenders certainly leave gaps that need to be filled immediately by other players selected by Shin Tae-yong.
