Know only Plan B
So what will become of Manu Kone? The robust midfielder has been considered a candidate for sale at Borussia Mönchengladbach for some time. The Foals want to collect a large sum of money and Koné wants to take the next step. All that is missing is a buyer who will transfer the desired 20 million plus X to the Gladbach account. For a player with these qualities, that shouldn’t really be a problem. Mind you: should. In Koné’s case, the market has hardly picked up – for whatever reason.

Only the lead to AC Milan has opened up in recent weeks. This may be quite hot, but whether it will lead to a transfer is questionable. The Rossoneri are said to have reached an agreement with the Frenchman, but whether they can also bring the negotiations with Borussia over the finish line apparently depends on another person. As a report in the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ suggests, Koné’s clubless and therefore free compatriot Adrien Rabiot is the desired player for the Milan midfield. In Saudi Arabia, they are hoping – once again – that the 52-year-old has started to get the tingling sensation and is so pronounced that a job in the Saudi Pro League is now conceivable. Such speculation is said to be circulating at one of the big Saudi clubs in particular: “Al Nassr is reading Zidane”says ‘Marca’. It is indeed attractive: at the club from Riyadh, currently in a sporting crisis, the former world-class midfielder would work with his long-time Real protégé Cristiano Ronaldo. It is not surprising that CR7 is said to be pushing for the signing. Nevertheless, the all-important question remains whether Zidane is really interested in a commitment in Saudi Arabia. Skepticism is appropriate.
