ARS Normandy offers allocation contracts…

In the summer of 2024, the ARS Normandie announced an operation to encourage health students to settle in areas of medical tension in the region, through CAE (study allowance contracts). This involves financing, in the final year of a health school or training institute, an allowance ranging from €5,000 (for nursing assistants) to €9,000 (for midwives), in return for a commitment to serve at least 18 months in a Norman medical-social establishment or service. The ARS covers half of the allowance, the recruiting establishment the rest. Other measures aimed at keeping health students in the region exist, such as the CESP (public service commitment contract) consisting of a monthly allowance of €1,200 during the training of medical or dental students if they work for two years in a “deficit area”.
