Singer Mariah Carey is in deep grief after losing her mother and sister who died on the same day. The tragic incident happened over the weekend, with details of the cause of their deaths not released.
Mariah Carey’s mother, Patricia Carey, was a talented opera singer trained at the Juilliard School as well as a voice coach. She was 87 years old. Sister Alison Carey was 63 years old and lived in Coxsackie, New York. In her statement, Mariah confided that she was heartbroken and that she was grateful to be able to spend the last week with her mother before her passing.
In her statement to the media, the singer expressed great sadness and asked for privacy during this difficult time. “My heart is broken because I lost my mother this weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, my sister also died,”Carey stated. She also added that she appreciates all the love and support she receives from her fans and friends.
Mariah Carey had a complicated relationship with her mother, which she previously described in her autobiography The Meaning of Mariah Carey. She mentioned in the book that their relationship caused her a lot of pain and confusion. Despite these complications, however, she also thanked her in her book for everything she did for her, expressing her love and appreciation at the same time.
