This Saturday, August 31, the 2nd Provincial Conference on Quince Management Practices in the department Bethlehem.
The event aims to train producers and technicians in the analysis of fruit quality, pests, diseases and fertilization. The day will be divided into two modules: the first will take place at the UNCA headquarters in Belén from 9:30 to 11:30 am, while the second will take place at the Municipal Nursery from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The speakers will be Mr. Bromat, Ms. Luciana Godoy, food technician Mariela Solohaga and surveyor engineer Juan José Cólica.
In this regard, Godoy stated that his participation will focus on “the presentation of the results of the fruit from Belén, in this case the quince.” “The analyses were carried out here in the municipal bromatology laboratory – in Andalgalá – at the request of the quince producers and INITA from Belén, who accompanied us in the sampling, were present throughout the process and now the results are being presented,” he added.
“We have been working on this for four years,” he said. “We are trying to see the chemical quality of the fruit, the conditions under which it was managed during the fruiting period, whether it was watered correctly, and whether it received the correct pest control,” he said.
“The agricultural part is handled by engineer Cólica, who will also be speaking. We already had a day at the Agricultural School where we explained what we have been doing,” he added.
