Chernomorets recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Neftohimik in the regional final of the Bulgarian Cup. More than 2,000 spectators gathered in the stands of St. Lazur, who nostalgically remembered the better times of both teams.
In this season, Neftohimik competes with A regional group, and Chernomorets in the higher level – Southeast Third League.
All three goals came in the first half. The result was discovered by Emanuil Manev. After him, Zhivko Petkov scored from a penalty. However, the third goal will be remembered for a long time, because Georgi Madzharov scored from the center, taking advantage of the unreasonable exit of the goalkeeper of the “Sheikhs” on the edge of the penalty area.
Chernomorets left no doubt about his superiority in the first part and created most of the chances. Neftohimik’s players had a hard time reaching the opponent’s penalty area.
In the second half, the Sharks clearly slowed down. This allowed the green-blacks to get a few chances, which, however, were skilfully saved by the goalkeeper of the symbolic guests.
Thus, the meeting ended with a well-deserved success for Chernomorets.
In the stands there were quite a few familiar faces from the recent football past of Burgas. Among them were Radostin Kishishev, Dimitar Dimitrov – Hero, Milen Georgiev, Nedelcho Matushev, Diyan Petkov and others.
Deputy Mayor for Sports Manol Todorov, People’s Representative Andrey Runchev, as well as Burgas municipal councilors were also present.
