The construction of the new environmentally friendly wood chip boiler house of SIA “Liepājas enerģija” at Alsungas street 40A is nearing completion. Already at the beginning of September, the technological drying of the furnaces of the boiler is planned, so that the heating of the boilers can be started after the process has been completed and all the necessary tests have been carried out in the test mode. , tells Zane Ģirne, SIA “Liepājas enerģija” Public Relations Specialist.
At this time, the road transport entrance and the area up to the gravel cover were built on the grounds of the boiler house, the reinforced concrete foundations of the truck scales were built and the scales were delivery of a truck, as well as the construction of paving slabs on the perimeter of the square and the work of laying asphalt.
On the other hand, for the boiler house, the assembly work of the sandwich panels of the building’s walls has been completed and the roof beam covering has been applied, as well as the insulation work has started. All the main technical equipment has been delivered to the construction site and the installation of the equipment is in full swing. In addition, a mobile floor system was installed in the chip warehouse and drive hydraulic cylinders were added, as well as an ash conveyor connected to the furnaces and ash containers were also delivered. Currently, work is actively continuing on the construction of electrical cables for power supply and control.
Two boilers with a total capacity of 4 MW will provide thermal energy in the Škelda boiler house and will be put into operation before the beginning of October.
According to the results of the procurement “Design, supervision of authors, construction work and service for the construction of a biomass heat source with a total capacity of 4 MW at Alsungas Street 40A, Liepāja”, the mentioned works are performed by AS “UPB”. On the other hand, heating boilers are provided and the company “AGB Serviss” does assembly work.
The new boiler house is being built to further promote the use of local renewable energy resources in the district heating supply, thus ensuring a continuous and stable supply of heat energy to existing users and that may exist, as well as to reduce or maintain heat energy costs. at the current level and improving the efficiency of boiler house operations. The total investment of the company in the construction of the boiler house is 3.234 million euros.
“Liepājas energīja” has also announced a price study “Delivery of energy wood chips in the heating season 2024/2025 to boiler houses at Alsungas iela 40A and Gen. Baloža 23A, Liepāja”. Applicants are requested to submit their applications by 11 am on August 30.
