Will William invite his brother Harry to the coronation, as his father Charles did just over a year ago? Probably not. If we believe the always well-informed palace circles, the heir to the throne has not spoken a word to his younger brother since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II almost two years ago. Not even when Harry and his wife Meghan sent get-well wishes to William’s wife Catherine after it was announced that the 42-year-old had cancer.
William, it is said, currently has other worries than thinking about his brother. His focus is on his wife and children, as well as his father, King Charles III, who is also suffering from cancer.
Both brothers are in New York at the end of September
Usually, there are more than 8,000 kilometers between William in London and Harry in Montecito, California. But in September, the two will be unusually close: 39-year-old Harry will be in New York at the end of September, a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex confirmed on Tuesday. According to the report, he will attend several events organized by charities, including The Diana Award, a prize established by former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 1999 in honor of Harry and William’s mother.
The 42-year-old Crown Prince, in turn, has his own prize, which he has been awarding since 2021: the Earthshot Prize. And on September 24, those responsible for his foundation will meet for their annual meeting at The Plaza Hotel in New York. The Prince of Wales last attended a year ago.
His confirmation or rejection for this year is still pending. Two years ago, William cancelled the first meeting at short notice in September 2022 – the reason was the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
