18,000 single-phase and 4,500 three-phase meters for SEEG benefit

Libreville, Wednesday August 28, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – This lot will be handed over to the Energy and Water Company of Gabon (SEEG) on August 30 by the CTRI during national liberation day, to ensure the survival of this business.

In press release No. .

“From now on, single-level meters will be installed at a cost of 70,000 CFA francs instead of 140,000 CFA francs. As for the three-level meters, they will be installed at a unit cost of 120,000 CFA francs instead of 280,000 CFA francs,” said Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, remembering however that the fixed amounts must be respected in order to legal avoidance.

This series of announcements also includes the establishment of the “One Gabonese, one meter” operation, to solve the problem of access to meters. This process, according to the CTRI spokesperson, will lead to a gradual standardization of meter models so that there will be only one meter and will not be suspicious in the long run.

The Head of State who took these various measures is in accordance with the decision he made recently to examine the SEEG. Therefore, there will be ongoing audits and investigations, as well as the renegotiation of the debt with a settlement plan.

The CTRI, who asked the company’s employees and unions to be patriotic, also announced the digitization and security of the entire IT system and a review of the user’s journey.

Remember that the Gabon Energy and Water Company is at the center of a major controversy that has shaken the company and all its users. The SEEG alone provides the public service of drinking water and electricity throughout the country.
