Strange news has reached us from England. Coach Vincent Kompany and players Ameen Al-Dakhil (ex-Standard and Sint-Truiden), Mike Trésor (ex-KRC Genk) and Manuel Benson (Royal Antwerp FC) have been indirectly attacked by the head of youth training at Burnley.
Longwell sent a harsh assessment of some first-team players via WhatsApp to the wrong group. The message reached the under-21 team, then the senior squad and coach Scott Parker (ex-Club Bruges).
Kompany brought down
Kompany was also mentioned. The Belgian coach has been accused of signing bad players and putting the club on the back burner. “There are so many players that Vinny (Vincent Kompany, editor’s note) bought in the Championship who were not at the level of the Premier League.”
“It’s a big problem that players can’t be released because of the club’s finances and it’s a big waste with so many bad players that Kompany has bought. And now Vinny has left.” But three players have still been rated positively: Josh Cullen (ex-Anderlecht), James Trafford and Josh Brownhill.
Belgians attacked
Treasure and Benson have been criticized. The latter has been called “lazy and bad-tempered” and the former has been criticized for his transfer fee. He cost €18 million! And he is not good at all, he has barely played. A lightweight and a bad personality. A complete waste of money.”
Red Devil Ameen Al-Dakhil, who has since joined German club Stuttgart, has not been spared either. “He is not good enough for the Premier League and after just one game he was put aside and didn’t play again. He is too thin and too weak for England.”
Burnley’s academy manager has resigned after sending a scathing report of their first team players into the wrong WhatsApp group.
Dave Longwell called some players “lazy”, “a big waste of money”, “rubbish” and “a disaster”.
