As the summer holidays are about to end, it is time to consult the calendar for the new 2024-2025 academic year, approved last June, which sets the start of classes on September 9 and the end on July 18 for Early Childhood and Primary Education as well as Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training. That is, it begins two days earlier than last year and ends three days earlier, since the school days add up to a total of 179, one less than the previous year.
As for the holidays, the Christmas holidays will begin on Monday, December 23, 2024, and will end on January 6, 2025, both inclusive, so the last day of school will be Friday, the 20th. The Easter holidays will begin on Thursday, the 17th, and will end on April 28, 2025, both inclusive.
The following holidays will not be school days during this school year:
- Wednesday, October 9, Valencian Community Day
- Friday, November 1st, All Saints’ Day
- Friday, December 6, Constitution Day
- Wednesday, March 19, St. Joseph’s Day
- Thursday, May 1, International Workers’ Day
In addition, local councils may propose up to a maximum of three additional days as non-school days, depending on the local holidays of each municipality.
Exceptionally, students taking basic qualification training programmes will start classes two days later, on 11 September 2024, and will finish on 18 June 2025. Those taking second-chance basic vocational training courses will also do so from 11 September to 18 June, while those taking adult education courses will start on 16 September 2024 and will finish on 13 June 2025.
