Renowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has made his debut during his successful career, so he will be recognized as the top scorer.
UEFA will award Ronaldo an award for being the top scorer in the history of the UEFA Champions League, the European body announced.
The football player better known as CR7 has scored 140 goals in 183 matches in the competition in different teams such as: Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
The striker will be honoured next Thursday at a ceremony in Monaco to unveil the 36-team league stage fixture list.
UEFA President, Alexander Ceferinsaid that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the stars “brighter” of the Champions.
“His extraordinary goalscoring achievements in the competition look set to stand the test of time, posing an extraordinary challenge to future generations,” he added.
“His sustained excellence at the highest level is a testament to his tireless pursuit of individual and team honours. Over more than two decades, he has continually evolved and refined his game, whilst retaining his passion for scoring and celebrating goals. His professionalism, work ethic, dedication and ability to shine on the big stage are qualities that footballers around the world should aspire to emulate.”he concluded.
