Introducing Trumf Pay: Norgesgruppen Launches New Mobile Payment Option with Extra Discounts for Users

Kiwi owner Norgesgruppen launches Trumf Pay. Like Apple Pay and Coop Pay, this means you can pay with your phone when you shop in the store.

Until the new year, Trumf attracts with an additional discount of one percent on all purchases for customers who use the payment solution.

– Several bonus campaigns

– We are also considering more bonus campaigns in the future. It is clear that we are interested in as many people as possible using Trumf Pay, says Trumf managing director Kristin Bigseth to Nettavisen.

Currently, around 70 percent of customers have access to the payment solution. The rest cannot join because Trumf does not have an agreement with all banks at this time.

– Our customers have asked to be able to paywith their mobile phone. Until now, customers who used Apple Pay had to scan their Trumfkortet. When you use Trumf Pay, everything happens in one operation, says Bigseth.

– No benefit to me

Someone who is always looking to save a few kroner where possible is the blogger Rune “Gjerrigknarken” Nikolaisen.

– I will test it. And if there could be more benefits, I might use it, says Nikolaisen.

But for now, it’s a little warm.

– I have a Trumf Visa today, and that gives me an extra one percent discount. If this doesn’t give me a percentage on top, Trumf Pay won’t mean I save anything.

Working on the case

And rightly so.

– For now, you can’t enter Trumf Visa in the app, says Kristin Bigseth in Trumf.

– But we are working on the matter, and we hope that it will be in place during the year, she says.

That does not affect Gjerrignarken.

– It seems that there may be a very short time in which I can hope to save something. But we will see if there are more bonus programs, he says.

He still thinks it’s good that Trumf is coming up with the new payment solution.

– It is good that they are taking the step into the future. Many people want to pay with their mobile phone. It will be easier now, and then you will get the Trumf bonus in one fell swoop, he says.

Coop has had mobile payments since 2019, when they launched Coop Pay. This does not provide an additional discount, but it has more than 1.1 million users according to Coop. They say that around 18 percent of Coop’s daily turnover is paid through this solution.
