In cooperation with the agency Saatchi & Saatchi, the Telekom developed the AI-supported tool “.mem”. This tool enables WhatsApp users to convert their audio recordings, videos, emojis, images and text messages into video memories. “.mem” is characterized by an AI-based mechanism that allows a “story” to be generated from group chats that is based on interactions and reactions within these chats. In contrast to conventional reminder services that mainly use personal photos, “.mem” depicts the shared experience from different perspectives.
To use the tool, “.mem” is added as a contact with the phone number +49 151 17739410 and then invited to the WhatsApp group. Images, videos and comments are shared in the chat as usual. If “.mem” is to create a reminder, users enter “Create our @mem” and the AI creates a video in around 20 minutes that can be shared on social networks.
