The Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere of Portugal said that an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 (Richter) this Monday at 5:11 am (Portugal Mainland time) was recorded at the stations of the Continente Seismic Network, the epicenter of which was located about 60 km away. west of Sines.

The epicenter was recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, off Sines, at a depth of 10.7 kilometers.

There are reports that the earthquake was felt in the Greater Lisbon area and also in the Porto area, as well as in the Setúbal area. In a statement, the Government promised that it was in close coordination with all relevant services in the matter.
