The head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, said that Jupiter is the fourth brightest object in the sky after the Sun, the Moon, and Venus, and that it appears as a dot bright white to the viewer. with the naked eye, and when he sees through binoculars or a small telescope, he sees the disk of the planet and around it the four large moons called “Galileo: Ganmede, Callisto, Europa, and Iowa, which appear as small points of light near Jupiter.
Abu Zahra explained, during the night hours, that all these objects appear to be moving westward as a result of the Earth’s rotation around its axis, but that the real movement of the moon is eastward in relation to the stars, showing that by looking at the position of the moon at the same time every day, it is noted that its movement is to the east in relation to the stars The planets are in the Zodiac, and the next day it will be noticed that the moon has moved away from Jupiter, moving to the east, that is its natural movement in the orbit around the Earth.
