With a children’s play, Michoacán closes the curtain of the 2024 State Theater Exhibition

Morelia, Michoacán, August 25, 2024.- After a week of presentations and workshops, the 2024 Michoacán State Theater Showcase came to an end. The closing ceremony took place at the Stella Inda Theater, where the Carlos Alarcón Puppet Company presented the play Historias Pop Up, a fun children’s story that set the imaginations of Michoacán families soaring.

Representing the Secretary of Culture, Tamara Sosa Alanís, the head of the Department of Theater, Fernando Ortíz, expressed his gratitude to the participants, both spectators and actors and actresses, for their dedication and commitment, while highlighting the importance of these events, not only as spaces for entertainment, but as platforms for reflection and the advancement of theater in the entity and its transformative impact.

Eight proposals participated in this traditional exhibition
performing arts in Morelia, Pátzcuaro and Zitácuaro, with themes such as gender equality, the environment, animal care, human rights, migration, among others, which took place in the Melchor Ocampo and Stella Inda theaters, as well as in the Samuel Ramos auditorium in Zitácuaro.

The workshops Body, Gesture and Clown, taught by Liliana Fraga and Pepe García, and Dramaturgy, moderated by Larissa Torres and led by Rita Girones and Rodrigo Eugenio Torres, were also held, with the theme of improvisation in dramatic writing and a slam that culminated in a collective reading.
