Hamas’ armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, said they fired rockets at Israel. Loud sirens were heard in the capital Tel Aviv.
Reported by Aljazeera, Monday (26/8/2024), the Qassam Brigades said they had launched an M90 rocket at the Israeli coastal town.
“This is in response to the massacres committed against civilians and the displacement of our people,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, as reported by AFP, the military Israel said the rocket landed ‘in an open field’ in Rishon LeTsiyon.
“After a siren sounded in Rishon LeTsiyon, one projectile was identified as crossing from the southern Gaza Strip and fell in an open area in the Rishon LeTsiyon area,” the military said in a statement.
A Hezbollah official is known to have said that the group was “trying” to ensure that its rocket and drone attack on Israel on Sunday (25/8) would not lead to a full-scale war.
