Disruptive demonstration, Semarang Deputy Police Chief on Intel was hit with a ‘spear’ in the cheek

Presentation on Jalan Pemuda Semarang, Central Java, today ended in chaos. One police officer was reported injured.

Reported detikJatengOn Monday (26/8/2024), the injured policeman was the Deputy Chief of Information for the Semarang Police. The victim was injured after being hit by an object thrown by the crowd.

“We are sorry that the students involved were STM students, we are sorry, and they were motivated. When it came at 18.00 WIB, the night came from nowhere and threw them, ” said Semarang Police Chief, Commissioner Irwan Anwar.

Irwan said his ball was hit by what looked like a spear. Semarang Police Deputy Chief of Information, Irwan, said there was a wound on his cheek.

“You can see the extent to which our younger brothers were throwing stones, pavements, wood, bamboo and so on, there were several victims, even the Deputy Chief of Police Intelligence was hit with a ‘spear’ on his right cheek,” explained Irwan.

It was known that the crowd defending the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the Regional Electoral Law took action with one of their demands asking Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to resign as President – sitting Indonesia. They performed in front of Semarang City Hall.
