Sports Plan Perrone signs for Como

Maximo Perrone joined Cesc Fabregas’ Como this Sunday. The Argentine midfielder arrived on loan from Manchester City.

“Como 1907 is pleased to announce that Maximo Perrone will join the club on loan from Manchester City. The midfielder joins the club on a one-year loan with an option to extend,” the Italian team said in a statement.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who plays for the Argentine youth team, was already on loan at Las Palmas last season.

Fabregas, who after the 3-0 defeat to Juventus in the first round of Serie A attributed the thrashing largely to his team’s lack of quality, said that Perrone’s arrival “is exciting” because of his versatility.

“His recent pre-season performances demonstrated his link-up play and creativity in midfield,” he added.

Pep Guardiola gave Perrone some playing time in Manchester City’s pre-season: he scored a goal against Celtic, in a friendly in which he played the second half, he started against Milan, played the second half against Barcelona and ten minutes against Chelsea.

The Argentine said he was “very happy” to have arrived at the Italian club: “I think this is a necessary step for my career to continue growing. I like the coach’s ideas and the style of play. Como 1907 is a very interesting club, with a quality squad and that’s why I decided to come here.”

Fabregas, who also strengthened his squad this Friday with the addition of free agent Spaniard Sergi Roberto, is awaiting the signing of Argentine Nico Paz from Real Madrid, a player who has already left the club.
