The Thuringian participants experienced a rainy Sunday on the third day of the German Championship, on which no further medals were added for the Thuringian Shooting Association.
The weather not only affected the athletes, but also the officials and spectators. While temperatures were still around 30 degrees on the first two days, it was wet, cold and dark in Munich on Sunday. In the mixed team skeet, the newly crowned German champion, Valentina Umhöfer, and her partner Paul Butterer (both from the SSZ Suhl support association) missed out on a place in the medal matches.
Rainy weather at the shotgun range in Munich
The two rapid-fire shooters Maximilian Schenk and Christian Freckmann struggled with the conditions in their round in extremely difficult lighting conditions. We can only hope that both can improve on the second day tomorrow. The rapid-fire juniors can look forward to this, as Max Malsch, Arne Schallus and Annis Charaf are all in good positions in the race so far.
Good mood among the rapid-fire shooters
State coach Susanne Messerschmidt was satisfied with the results of her air rifle shooters in the Junior II category. With a score of 619.2, Leni Colleen achieved a respectable 16th place, while Lena Henninger with 616.4 (both from the SSZ Suhl support association) finished 19th. Both showed their increased performance and that the jump to the national top has become a little smaller again.
