The Directorate of Health of the Piedmont Region says – reporting on the national media – that they have complied with the indications given by the Ministry of Health in the smallpox circular sent to the local health authorities. But the document refers to guidelines that have been superseded by the latest ministerial circular published on 19 August. The sexual and behavioral trends referred to in the Department’s text were present in an old circular from the Ministry of Health dated 5 August 2022 entitled “Interim indications in the vaccination strategy against monkeypoxTherefore the Health Directorate of the Piedmont Region would have been referring to a circular that was no longer in accordance with studies and updates.
