The competition in this sector is very big, as are the demands of new games, so expectations were high because this is a particularly expensive device.

Amazing exterior
Today, most gamer laptops already appear with the appearance of brutal performance and being a special piece. That is, fat people and designers pack them full of all kinds of silly decorative elements, with air intakes like a blower, and it is not uncommon to have full colored LEDs behind the cover too.
Legion Pro 7, on the other hand, represents the extreme opposite. It has a solid matte black color similar to the already mentioned ThinkPads. It is particularly thin, of course it is not as big as a generic ultrabook, but in its own product category the thickness of 2.4 centimeters is considered very, very good. In addition, thanks to this, it is very comfortable to carry. The ventilation openings run carefully for him, they are not embarrassing at all.
The overall effect is completely correct, the end result is clean, elegant, and from the outside, one could even think they are seeing an industrial machine.
The LEDs were not saved, but they do not weave through the whole model, only a few were placed on the front surface and behind the keyboard. But they can still turn it into a Christmas tree if someone needs it.
It is well poured with connectors, it has the most advanced HDMI and USB ports, and it also got the best WiFi and Bluetooth technology at the moment. The device housing is made of aluminum, which also looks very hard to the touch, which does not crack like its cheaper plastic relatives. Also, it seems to be stable enough, although we obviously treated it as a male egg.
A mobile power plant
In addition to the exterior, a lot of attention was paid to the interior as well, as it received extremely powerful hardware. Backed by the latest and greatest Intel i9 processor and a top-end Nvidia RTX 4080 video card with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, it’s capable of delivering performance that puts desktop computers to shame.
This was confirmed by the synthetic test measurements, on which he scored very high. But more importantly, he also performed flawlessly in daily activities. Even the latest games with the roughest graphics ran quickly in ultra-high resolution, in HDR mode, with a high frame rate. Many people use tools in this category for video editing or design programs.
So I tried it with CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro and Vegas editing programs, Photoshop, and a 3D graphics application called TwinMotion, and it worked fine with all of them.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IRX9H is not a frivolous gaming machine, because it can even be used as a semi-professional-professional level work machine, and of course it is also suitable for eSports.
Image quality
The importance of the target group of players for this model is clearly shown by the fact that it received an IPS LCD display instead of OLED due to better image refresh characteristics. The difference is not so great, but in return it can display 240 frames per second, which is twice what the OLED panels that are built into notebooks can do at the moment.
This leads to better movement reproduction, visual signals reach the user’s eyes faster, which can be decisive during conflicts.
Image quality is otherwise pretty decent:
Based on the measurements, it competes with the best monitors in terms of color richness. The constant brightness reaches 500 nits, and HDR material handling is also guaranteed. The response time is low, but the resolution is great, since the 16-inch display has 2560 × 1600 pixels, which is larger than usual, so the details are better.
Image features are important not only in games, but also in the already mentioned office-work-education applications. Let’s not even talk about multimedia content, because it is also very good for filming.
Directed and energetic
The basics are fine, and this time the engineers also focused on the accessories: The keyboard is great, the buttons are big enough and the sensitivity is adequate. The built-in mouse is large, sits firmly, does not move.
It has an excellent 100 WH battery, but despite the excellent capacity, if it is powered, it can only be used for a few hours.
But that’s the curse of the super screen and beefy hardware. In addition, if it is not connected to the main power source, its performance will be greatly reduced.
So it can only be used to its full potential if it is plugged into the socket. This cannot be blamed as a fault simply because all laptops in this category struggle with it in the same way. Like heating, which also causes problems here. The housing of the device tends to get very hot when the iron is working hard, which makes it very comfortable to hold in your lap. It comes with an integrated 1 TB SSD, lightning-fast, ie the storage space is large enough.
Who can you join?
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IRX9H is a very well made, extremely powerful laptop with beautiful image quality.
However, it is not for everyone.
The 16-inch screen basically defines its dimensions, so it’s not a compact piece.
For this reason, it is not comfortable or even impossible to use on a bus or plane, because it just does not fit. In addition, it is also a fact that it is expensive, and there is no need for HUF 1.2 million for someone who cannot or does not want to take advantage of the potential of the product. It is also not among the world champions in terms of operating time. If this is a top priority for someone, it would be best if they ran in the summer ARM-based computing look between.
