/ world today news/ Germany is monitoring Greece, which will not receive money if it does not fulfill its terms with international creditors.
This was stated by Bundestag Gunter Kirchbaum, chairman of the parliamentary committee for Europe, quoted by Reuters.
“We are watching closely not only whether Athens accepts the reforms, but also whether they implement them,” he said, adding that the country “must meet the conditions, otherwise the money will not be able to flow.”
The Greek parliament must today vote on the second package of reforms that were agreed with Greece’s creditors. If they are accepted, the negotiations for the country’s third bailout program can also begin.
“There can be no rescue program if the Greek government withdraws from its commitments. Then the EU will have to cancel the negotiations immediately,” commented Alexander Lambsdorff, a German member of the European Parliament.
At the same time, representatives of the creditors – the EC, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) should arrive on Friday in Athens, where they will hold meetings with the government. This was stated by the Greek Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas.
