Despite Kelvin Yeaboah’s two goals, Minnesota lost 3-2 to Seattle in week 23 of USA – MLS 2024. It was a very close match that was decided by details and in which a momentary 2-2 draw was reached, until Brian Schmetzer’s team managed to be the winners. The effectiveness in front of goal of Jordan Morris (10′ 1T), Jackson Ragen (27′ 1T) and Albert Rusnák (29′ 2T) was key for their team to breathe at the end of the match. Those led by Cameron Knowles broke the opposing goal with Kelvin Yeaboah (23′ 1T, from a penalty and 10′ 2T), but they left with nothing.

In the 29th minute of the second half, Albert Rusnák lifted Seattle’s spirits and earned all the applause. After an individual move on the left, the midfielder unleashed a shot from mid-distance that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance. A goal that hit the right post!

Albert Rusnák’s performance made him the standout player of the match. The Seattle Sounders midfielder scored 1 goal.

Kelvin Yeaboah was another standout player. The Minnesota United striker was at his best by scoring 2 goals and having 6 shots on goal.

Minnesota head coach Cameron Knowles started his game in a 5-3-2 formation with Dayne St. Clair in goal; Jeong Sangbin, Jefferson Diaz, Michael Boxall, Miguel Tapias and Joseph Rosales on the defensive line; Hassani Dotson, Robin Lod and Wil Trapp in the middle; and Teemu Pukki and Kelvin Yeaboah on offense.

For their part, Brian Schmetzer’s men took to the field in a 4-5-1 formation with Stefan Frei between the posts; Alexander Roldan, Yeimar Gómez, Jackson Ragen and Nouhou Tolo in defence; Obed Vargas, João Paulo Mior, Cristian Roldan, Albert Rusnák and Paul Rothrock in midfield; and Jordan Morris up front.

Guido Gonzales Jr. was appointed as the main referee for the match at Allianz Field.

Minnesota will face San Jose Earthquakes on the road next week, and Seattle will play Portland Timbers on the road. Seattle will give its best effort in its next game, facing its main rival in the Cascadia derby.
