The legend of French cinema Alain Delon was buried at his estate in central France, according to news published by the French news agency AFP on stage X on Saturday.
The French group said the funeral ceremony was held in the presence of members of his small private circle.
Dillon had said again that he did not want to hold a national ceremony, and that he would prefer to hold a small funeral on his estate.
He was buried in a church within his estate next to several of his dogs, as he had wished.
Hours before the funeral, dozens of fans of the actor gathered at the gates of his estate, laid flowers and signed a book of condolences. Meanwhile, Dillon’s fans held a moment of silence for him.
Delon has participated in more than 80 films, and is particularly famous for the film “The Samurai” directed by Jean-Pierre Millefeuille.
Dillon died last Sunday at the age of 88.
