PSV got a big win on Saturday night when they visited Almere City (1-7), but after that game it was mostly about other things. Despite the joy of the victory and a good start to the competition, there are all kinds of mobility problems mostly among Brabanders.
From the team that won the championship last season, only Jordan Teze has moved out. However, this week it was announced that Olivier Boscagli and Walter Benítez have a desire to move, and Jerdy Schouten would also be interested, among others.
“I’m in the middle myself and I know what’s going on,” says trainer Peter Bosz. “So in that sense the unrest isn’t too bad. But the truth is that a number of boys have actually said they want to leave. If you want to call that unrest… then yes .”
Bosz is not worried about transfer issues: “But the truth is that boys want to leave”
The trainer will not want to say whether all the proverbial frogs will stay in the wheelbarrow and Bosz can keep his selection intact. “If it was up to me, yes. But in the end the boys have to keep it up. For me it’s not that exciting, but for the boys it is.”
At the same time, defensive reinforcements are still needed, as the Eindhoven team is currently very busy in that line. Bosz is still not revealing too much about a possible acquisition.
“You shouldn’t be with me for that,” he says. “I know a lot about it, of course, but I don’t know if it’s going in the right direction. Am I losing sleep over it? Not for a second,” he assures .
Veerman open about summer transfer: “I expected more”
Midfielder Joey Veerman, on the other hand, is honest. Not much was going around him in terms of movements. “I expected a bit more from this transition period. But so be it, let’s continue,” he says matter-of-factly. Did the European Championship play a role in his summer transfer? “I have no idea.”
Veerman understands that his teammates are interested in moving. “We became champions last year, almost everyone played the best season of their careers. Then it is reasonable that many players believe they can take the next step.”
Driouech was delighted
Couhaib Driouech, who was taken over by PSV from Excelsior this summer, speaks similar words. However, he says that transfer issues should not be unnecessarily excessive.
“It’s not too bad with the turmoil in the group,” said the player. “You saw tonight that the boys who want to leave are just playing on the field, straight hat for them.”
Driouech was delighted with the goals: ‘But it’s hard for me to celebrate’
Driouech himself scored again as a substitute, just as he did on his PSV debut last week. However, he seemed even happier with the help he provided later. “I mark an assist as a goal,” he laughs afterwards. “They also take part in the statistics and I’m happy when a team player gets one. “
He may not show a way to celebrate against Almere (Cristiano Ronaldo jumped) often anymore. “It’s still hard for me to celebrate. I still have to figure out how I’m going to celebrate my goals,” he concludes lightly.
