All results from Friday – Unihockey.ch

The new floorball season is fast approaching. While the Champions Cup quarter-finals are already being played in Sweden and Finland, the Supercup is scheduled for next weekend in Switzerland. This weekend, a particularly large number of teams are playing test matches and preparation tournaments, so there was also a considerable floorball program on Friday.

Champions Cup
The Swedish cup winner and SSL finalist Pixbo started this year’s Champions Cup with a home defeat. This despite the home team taking a 4-1 lead against the Esport Oilers. From the halfway point onwards, however, only the visitors were scoring. After 13 seconds in the final third, the equaliser was made 4-4, and five minutes later the Finnish champions were in the lead for the first time. The return match will take place in Espoo next Saturday, August 31st – Pixbo needs a win after 60 minutes to be able to play the decision in a 10-minute overtime (sudden death) or a possible penalty shootout.

Pixbo Wallenstam – Esport Oilers 4:9

BEO-Cup
In Seftigen and Uetendorf, six UPL teams as well as Aergera and Zäziwil from the NLB are taking part in this year’s BEO Cup. The Emmental team replaced runner-up Zug at short notice. All eight teams were in action for the first time on Friday evening. The direct duel between the NLB teams ended 3:3, with Giffers securing victory in the subsequent penalty shootout.

Zäziwil – Giffers 3:3 (Giffers wins in the penalty shootout)
Wizards – Skorps 4:5
Piranha – BEO 5:3
Riders – WASA 3:6

UBR Challenge
In Basel this weekend, the Swiss teams from GC, Wiler and host UBR will be competing alongside the Black Angels Paradubice and the German champions Weissenfels. On Friday, there were two clear results: Basel was 0:5 down against the Czechs at one point and ultimately had to admit defeat 3:10. Wiler defeated GC clearly 7:1. The record champions redeemed themselves somewhat from their results at the Czech Open (final 6th place, no wins in regular time).

Black Angels – Basel Regio 10:3
GC Unihockey – Wiler-Ersigen 1:7

Scandic Cup
UHC Uster is taking part in the Scandic Cup in Umea. In the elite table, the Zurich Oberland team suffered a clear defeat in the first game. Yves Klöti and Daniels Janis Anis scored for Uster in the 2:9 defeat, while Noël Seiler scored a goal and an assist for Thorengruppen.
