“What!?” That is the reaction of the president of Botswana when he sees for the first time the large diamond that was discovered in his country. “God is good,” Mokgweetsi Masisi can finally say after staring in disbelief at the 2,492-carat diamond for several seconds. The gem is the second largest diamond in the world and was discovered by the Canadian mining company Lucara in the Karowe diamond mine. The Cullinan, discovered in South Africa in 1905, is still the largest diamond in the world with 3,106 carats.
