The junior foursome missed out on a place in the top-6 final at the U19 World Championships in St. Catharines, Canada (18-25 August 2024) after a strong start and will be rowing for a conciliatory finish on Sunday.
U19 World Championship: JM4- in the B final
The U19 foursome had to let the competition go after a good first half of the course and missed out on a place in the final of the top 6 with a fourth place in the intermediate run.Unfortunately, the race was very bitter. We knew that the repechage would be tough and that the opponents would be very strong. The chance of making it to the A final was definitely there and they tried, but unfortunately they didn’t make it to the finish. Now it’s time to shake it off, pick ourselves up and drive the best possible B final.“, says Anna-Maria Götz.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Maria Hauser will be competing in the A/B semifinals in the JW1x (17:09 CET). In her race for a place in the medal race, the ÖRV athlete will be competing against competitors from Hungary, China, Brazil, Canada and Ukraine.
