After losing Martin Terrier, Stade Rennais could see another striker leave in the person of Arnaud Kalimuendo. Fresh from winning a silver medal at the Olympics, he has attracted the interest of Juventus Turin.
Author of a great season in 2023-2024 at Stade Rennais with 15 goals and 5 assists in all competitions, Arnaud Kalimuendo has a good rating on the transfer market. At the start of the transfer window, the Suresnes native was in the sights of several Bundesliga clubs. Borussia Dortmund thought of him but it was Stuttgart who were the most pressing to welcome the French international hopeful in order to compensate for the departure of Serhou Guirassy. However, this destination did not thrill the player, who chose to stay in Rennes… at least for now. Back from the Olympic Games, Arnaud Kalimuendo could experience a more hectic final week of the transfer window than expected.
And for good reason, the Italian media Il Mattino surprised everyone this Friday by revealing that Juventus Turin is very interested in the opportunity to recruit Kalimuendo in the money-time of the transfer window. This lead was initiated within the Old Lady by a certain Thiago Motta, who trained Arnaud Kalimuendo when he was the youth coach at PSG. The Juve coach greatly appreciates the profile of the current Stade Rennais striker and would like to make him a complementary player within his squad. This prospect will not leave the former Lensois indifferent, who perhaps already imagines himself with the black and white jersey of Juventus Turin on his back.
Caution is still required on this file because according to the transalpine media, the Turin club must first sell a striker – probably Milik – before being able to concretize its interest in Kalimuendo with an offer. But this totally unexpected file could well upset the plans of Stade Rennais a few days before the closing of the transfer market.
