With the EH-Q series, Epson is introducing a new range of laser projectors with 4K resolution or, more precisely, UHD resolution (38040 x 2160= ) for private users. The series includes three models: EH-QB1000W/B, EH-QL3000W/B and EH-QL7000W/B, which deliver images with a diagonal of up to 1000 inches (25.4 m). According to Epson, they create immersive and lively home entertainment, whether in specially equipped home cinema or media rooms or in bright living areas. The three home projectors, which are probably largely identical on the outside (Epson has not provided exact information), can be integrated into bright environments without compromise and are packed with technology and features for film, sports and gaming enthusiasts.
All projectors in this new series use Epson’s 3LCD laser technology and deliver 4K super-resolution images in UHD (3840 x 2160). They are designed to meet the growing demand for large-format entertainment with high-quality image reproduction in bright rooms.
The EH-QB1000 projects images up to 300 inches (7.62 m) diagonally, while the EHQL3000 and EH-QL7000 models reach up to 1000 inches (25.4 m). With a brightness of up to 10,000 lumens, the EH-QL7000 offers particularly bright and vivid images. The EH-QL3000 reaches up to 6,000 lumens and the EH-QB1000 manages up to 3,300 lumens. These brightness levels enable an optimal viewing experience in different environments without having to compromise on installation.
The dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 delivers precise shadow details and deeper blacks. 4K frame interpolation ensures smooth image movements, and super resolution preserves details in every scene. The EH-QL3000 and EH-QL7000 models also offer HDR10 support, while the EH-QB1000 HDR10+ ensures an even more intense viewing experience for films and sports broadcasts.
The EH-Q projectors allow large projections (depending on the model) and high image quality even in bright rooms. The 7000 and 3000 models can be fitted with different lenses. An ultra-short throw lens with zero offset enables unobtrusive installation on ceilings.
With HDMI 2.1 connections, a 4K/120 Hz refresh rate and Auto Low Latency Mode, the projectors also offer an outstanding gaming experience. Their exceptional image quality combined with the large projection surface also makes them ideal for sports simulations. The EH-QL3000 and EH-QL7000 models are compatible with a wide range of interchangeable lenses and can be easily configured to deliver the desired image size in optimal quality in any room. These include options such as an ultra-short throw lens with zero offset, which enables unobtrusive installation on ceilings. The interchangeable lenses allow the projection distance to be flexibly adjusted without having to move the projectors.
The projectors are compatible with a wide range of IP control systems, can be integrated into existing installations and offer many other benefits such as easy customization. The wide range motorized lens shift function as well as the motorized zoom and focus ensure that the projector is quick and easy to set up. The almost instant warm-up and cool-down time contributes to its outstanding comfort, energy efficiency and the long lifespan (20,000 hours) of the laser. Thanks to the integrated support of Crestron, Control4 and RS232C/wired LAN, it can be easily integrated into a smart home network, making the viewing experience even more enjoyable.
Prices and availability
The three new projectors in the EH-Q series will be available from selected home cinema retailers in black (B) and white (W) from October 2024. The recommended retail price (RRP including local VAT) is 5,346.22 francs (in DE/AT: 5,499 euros) for the EHQB1000W/B, 14,562.48 francs (DE/AT: 14,999 euros) for the EH-QL3000W/B and 23,300.55 francs (DE/AT: 23,999 euros) for the EHQL7000W/B.
